Introduction

NSRC is a nonprofit social organization committed to serving the society voluntarily. Its primary focus is to cooperate with the personnel accountable for the reformation through progressive development in all respects of society. NSRC foresees the problems and seeks for their immediate resolutions by putting forward the issues before the academics, professionals, politicians, political analysts, sociologists, anthropologists, natural scientists and others as it believes them and expects their aspirations and endeavors to affect the society both extrinsically and intrinsically. NSRC has strong faith in building up the nation through joint venture of both state and non state actors. Therefore, it is high time all the stakeholders nationally and internationally reached a common ground to overcome the stagnant political turmoil of the country.

Thus NSRC is determined to playing crucial roles in any venture of social reformation and development for the sake of the entire state.

Vision and Significance of NSRC

The need for a just and progressive society that respects principles of dynamism is the demand of the time and with this mission, social organizations are sought for. Moreover, when the state actors fail to meet the aspirations of people of a sovereign nation, non-state actors are expected to fulfill the gap and work for immediate progress, prosperity and peace which can ensure common people with their right to living, development and pleasure in every moment of their life course.

NSRC has been established to serve the people and cooperate with them to build up a nation that can nurture her children with all required and sophisticated flavor of the changing time. The whole world is a globalized village that looks for all people of the world to develop the sense of solidarity and fraternity for holistic development of all respects of life. This is the age of science and technology. In this preview, NSRC is committed to moving ahead to yield a ground for the generation of teams of thinkers from diverse domains. To develop a think-tank, all the indispensable actions and endeavors will be made. Enthusiasm and zeal of youths, brains of the educated and stamina of the mighty people are to be united in a single bond for the holistic development of the nation. NSRC envisions such mental warriors who could shower sparkles of morning dew upon the withering aura of the nation.

Inception

NSRC was erected with the joint endeavors of renowned Nepalese thinkers, scholars and professionals in November 2007. The organization has been proactive in connecting people from different walks of disciplines and domains since then. In addition, the organization has been holding different public interactions and seminars to reflect on the contemporary issues with the expectations of providing relevant recommendations to the government bodies and agencies.

Objectives

The organization is committed to:

• Bringing about thinkers such as professionals, intellectuals and academics, social workers, and political activists and scientists to become the integral part of NSRC for sharing and reflecting views and visions on the social, economic, political, scientific, technological, industrial, diplomatic, judiciary issues and so on which can help both the state actors and non state actors engaged in building up and capacitating the nation.
• Cultivating milieu for studies and researches on discreet issues and areas in order to accumulate information items and to put them into book forms for dissemination among the stakeholders.
• Yielding a ground for fruitful seminars, workshops, trainings, public interactions, public hearings on the burning issues of the nation
• Publishing bulletins, monographs, periodicals and professional journals and focusing on the propagation of weekly magazine: Visions and Criticisms

Activities

NSRC organized its first public function as an interaction entitled “Prospects and Challenges of Research in Nepal”.  Around 100 participants representing research institutions, universities and international organizations based in the Kathmandu Valley welcomed and remarked the formation of NSRC in an enthusiastic manner. After the formal discussion and sharing of views among the participants, items of information reported which are as testimonials to the prospective researchers and investigators.

Similarly NSRC conducted a round table session at Dashain as social unifier just after the festival season 2007 had formally ended. Nearly 70 participants representing the intelligentsia of the Kathmandu Valley expressed their views on the social, cultural, political, religious and spiritual as well as consumerist aspects of Nepal.

NSRC held a public interaction forum on People’s Expectations from the Constituent Assembly and the Possibilities for Their Fulfillment, the invited speakers on the forum were newly elected CA members and NSRC rostrum of scholars and researchers.

Currently NSRC is engaged in holding seminars and public interactions seeking for immediate resolution strategies in the political turmoil. There are numerous conflicting situations in this nation-building process. The country is in the stalest situation.
